Somatic & Body-Based Practices

Restoring safety through the language of the nervous system

Somatic & Body-Based Practices

Trauma is not only remembered—it is felt. Somatic approaches focus on the body’s sensations, movements, and internal cues to support nervous system regulation and restore a sense of safety.

Reconnecting With the Body as a Source of Safety

Trauma is not only remembered in the mind—it is held in the body. Somatic and body-based practices focus on gently restoring the connection between the nervous system, physical sensations, and emotional awareness to support healing from the inside out.

Within the Parami Integrative Pathway Method (PAIR-ME), somatic work helps clients learn how to recognize stress responses, regulate overwhelm, and rebuild a sense of safety in their bodies. These practices are slow, intentional, and consent-based—designed to meet you where you are rather than push you beyond your capacity.

By learning to listen to the body’s cues, clients often experience increased grounding, emotional clarity, and a greater sense of control and presence in daily life.

Somatic work within PAIR-ME may include:

  • Grounding and orienting techniques

  • Breathwork and nervous system regulation

  • Gentle movement and body awareness exercises

  • Learning to recognize and respond to stress signals

These practices help clients reconnect with their bodies, reduce overwhelm, and build resilience from the inside out.
