"Your Life is an Occasion, Rise to It"
Quiana Matthews – LMFT

I believe healing happens when people feel safe, seen, and respected—not rushed or “fixed.”

My goal is to help people find themselves and to be happy and comfortable with who they are. You can’t have successful relationships otherwise. Once you have that happiness from within, it will radiate outward. You can be a better spouse, parent, or friend. I’m here to help you find YOUR truth, YOUR perfection, YOUR Parami.

I’m Quiana Matthews, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, retired Army Veteran, and the founder of Parami Wellness. My work is grounded in lived experience, clinical training, and a deep respect for the nervous system’s role in healing. I specialize in working with adults, Veterans, and trauma survivors who are ready for deeper healing beyond talk therapy alone.

At Parami Wellness, I use the Parami Integrative Pathway Method (PAIR-ME)—a trauma-informed approach that integrates EMDR, Brainspotting, somatic and body-based practices, and narrative therapy. This method allows healing to unfold at a pace your nervous system can trust, without requiring you to repeatedly relive or retell painful experiences.

I often describe myself as a nerdy hippie with a clinical brain. Outside the therapy space, I’m a military spouse, a mom of six (four human kids and two fur babies), a sci-fi and fantasy lover, a gamer, and a stargazer. These parts of me matter—because therapy doesn’t happen in a vacuum. I bring warmth, curiosity, and respect into the room, while holding steady boundaries and clinical intention.

My role is not to push you or pathologize you, but to walk alongside you as you reconnect with safety, meaning, and wholeness across mind, body, and spirit.

              Credentials & Clinical Approach

She is the founder of Parami Wellness and the developer of the Parami Integrative Pathway Method (PAIR-ME)—a structured, consent-based framework designed to support deep trauma recovery through nervous system–focused care.

Quiana served 14 years in the U.S. Army as a Military Intelligence Specialist. Her military background informs her clinical work with Veterans, service members, and individuals affected by cumulative stress, moral injury, and complex trauma.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Maryland University College and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She is a certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and trained in Brainspotting. She also included somatic and body-based interventions, and narrative therapy in her practice.

Quiana is also a Certified Adaptive Yoga Instructor and Level II Reiki Practitioner, which supports her body-aware, regulation-focused work. Holistic elements are incorporated thoughtfully and only when clinically appropriate and client-led.

Her therapeutic approach emphasizes:

  • Trauma-informed and consent-based care

  • Nervous system regulation and stabilization

  • Integration of mind, body, and meaning

  • Cultural responsiveness and identity affirmation

  • Intentional pacing to prevent retraumatization

Services are offered via secure telehealth and are tailored to adults seeking integrative trauma therapy, particularly those for whom traditional talk therapy has been insufficient.
